Kathy Giraud has served as Independent Living, Inc.’s (ILI) and Independent Home Care, Inc.’s (IHC) Vice President of Human Resources since April 2022. Included in Kathy’s more than 23 years of human resources experience are the 14 years Kathy has with ILI transitioning from the HR Generalist to the Benefits and HRIS Manager before being promoted into her current role. Prior to joining ILI, Kathy was employed for 10 years as the Benefits Manager at a multi-national test and measurement solutions manufacturer located in Rockland County. While there, her responsibilities included overseeing the company’s stock options and Employee Stock Purchase Plans for the over 600 employees located in more than a dozen countries. Kathy’s experience also includes 13 years with Xerox Corporation as the onsite Reprographics Facilities Manager. During her time with Xerox, in addition to running the Reprographics Department, she was tasked with training new Xerox employees.
As a member of the Executive Team, Kathy is responsible for ILI’s human resources strategy, talent acquisition and engagement, leadership development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and its Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) initiatives. As the VP of HR, she develops and administers policies, practices, and programs meant to cultivate a qualified, dedicated and satisfied staff in order to support ILI in becoming the leader in Peer service provision.
Kathy received her Bachelor of Science in Business with a specialization in Human Resources Management. Her HR credentials include a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification and SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP). During Kathy’s time with ILI, the HR Department has grown from a team of two to a team of five. In addition to her dry sense of humor, Kathy is best known for her dedication, consistency, and no-nonsense approach to talent management.
